# How to factory reset a Quark gateway in case of a lost password, using a USB stick

This aricle explains how to factory reset a Quark gateway enabled WeldCloud equipment using a USB stick.

| This scenario applies when you lost your gateway password and need to reconfigure your Quark gateway

||| Please take care Quark gateway will be reset to factory conditions. You need to configure it again afterwards

Please ensure following requirements are met:

1. USB stick formatted as FAT32
2. Quark gateway reset file downloaded on your PC/laptop

###### How to download Quark gateway reset file
**1.** Navigate to [https://apps.indusuite.com](https://apps.indusuite.com)

**2.** Sign in with your WeldCloud credentials

**3.** Click on WeldCloud Fleet

**4.** Click "Firmware management"

**5.** Click "Download files"

**6.** Click "Download"

* Format a USB stick as FAT32 and copy reset file **${color}[#0000ff](do_gateway_factory_rese)t** into USB stick root
* Turn welding equipment off
* Insert USB stick into the equipment as shown in pictures below (USB port location depends on the equipment. ${color}[#0000ff](**On PEK control panel USB port is on the back**))

* Once USB stick is in, power on welding equipment
* Wait 2 minutes for the factory reset to happen
* Power off welding equipment
* Remove USB stick
* Power on welding equipment and access Quark gateway with default credentials (username: ${color}[#0000ff](**admin**), password: ${color}[#0000ff](**gateway**))
