# How to factory reset a Universal Connector in case of a lost password

This article will cover a scenario where you lost your Universal Connector gateway password.
In this case you can perform a factory reset of the equipment using a specific hardcoded jolly password.

||| Please take care Universal Connector gateway will be reset to factory conditions. You need to configure it again afterwards

Please ensure following requirements are met:

1. Android device available (Android version 7.0 and up)
2. WeldCloud Link app installed on Android device (you can download from Google Play Store [here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.esab.connect))

###### Reset Procedure
**1.** Open WeldCloud Link on your Android device

**2.** Tap "LOG IN" and use your WeldCloud apps credentials

**3.** Tap on the hamburger menu in the top left corner

**4.** Tap "Welding Unit Setup"

**5.** Tap "CONNECT"

**6.** Available WeldCloud devices will be displayed. Tap on the one you want to connect to

**7.** Wait for Bluetooth connection to be ready

**8.** Tap on "PAIR"

**9.** WeldCloud Link will show successful pairing

**10.** Setup menu will pop up

**11.** Tap "FACTORY RESET"

**12.** Use the hardcoded password: gatewayreset and tap "LOG IN"

**13.** Tap "PERFORM FACTORY RESET"

**14.** Confirm action tapping on "PERFORM FACTORY RESET"
