How to navigate the gas source management

Welcome,

in this article you can find explanaitions and usefull information around new new overhauled gas source management.

To improve the usability we added new features and with that a new workflow.

When you enter the Gas Sources menu, you’ll now see three new tabs that help you manage all aspects of your gas sources.

To fully understand the new workflow, we’ll start by reviewing the new Gas Sources and Gas Supplies.

Gas Sources

Gas source: A Gas Source represents the logical container in FloCloud where gas usage is tracked. It stays the same over time and is linked to your measurement point, even when the physical gas cylinder changes.

Within each Gas Source, you can assign Gas Supplies, which are the physical containers—such as single cylinders or bundles. This separation allows you to easily track cylinder movements and actions (for example, exchanges or refills) while maintaining continuous, consistent gas usage tracking for your gas system.

The Gas Sources tab provides an overview of all gas sources in your system where gas usage is tracked. Each row represents one Gas Source and shows key information such as the currently assigned gas supply, gas system, gas type, total volume, latest pressure reading, estimated gas left, and installation date.

From this view, you can quickly see whether a Gas Source has a gas supply assigned, monitor its current status, and identify sources that need attention, such as missing supplies or outdated pressure readings. This centralized overview ensures full transparency across your gas system while keeping the focus on stable measurement points rather than individual cylinders.

For each gas Source you can take actions from the menu on the right side.

Service Gas Source: here you can assign a new Gas supply or replace and enter notes

**View History: **get a full view on all actions that were performed on this gas source in the past, you can filter for specific time frames and actions

**Edit Source: **Change the current settings of the gas source, such as name, site, etc.

Gas Supply (Gas Inventory)

Gas supply: A Gas Supply represents the physical gas cylinder connected to this Gas Source. When a cylinder is replaced or refilled, a new Gas Supply might be added while the Gas Source remains unchanged.

The Gas Inventory tab focuses on managing all physical gas supplies such as cylinders, packs, and tanks. Each entry represents a real, tangible container and includes details like supply type, gas type, volume, lot number, status, manufacturer, and service history.

The table also shows the current status of each supply—such as Available or In Use—along with the most recent pressure reading or remaining volume when available. Service-related information, including the last service date, is displayed to support maintenance and compliance tracking.

Using this screen, you can clearly distinguish which containers are currently connected to a Gas Source, which are available in inventory, and which have been recently serviced. This structured overview makes it easy to manage physical gas containers independently while keeping full visibility into their condition, usage state, and history.

Srvice History

The Service History tab provides a chronological overview of all actions related to gas supplies, including refills and replacements. This makes it easy to track changes over time and understand the current status of each physical container

Workflow

Once a Gas Source is created without a Gas Supply, you can begin assigning physical gas supplies to it.

Open the Gas Source for editing, then select an already created Gas Supply or add a new physical supply directly from this view.
