How to Create a Welding Book
How to create a Welding Book — a submission package of welds, WPSs, and inspections for client approval. Also usable as a shop floor instructions manual.
Procedure — Step by Step
1. Create the Welding Book
- Click "Welding Book" in the sidebar

- Click "New"

- Create a new Project or search for an existing one

- Fill in all the project details

- Click "Create Project"

- Enter Welding Book name, date, and company → click "Create the Welding Book"

2. Add Welds
- Click "Welds"

- Click "Add Weld"

- Enter the weld name

- Select the WPS to assign

- Select welding processes (e.g. 141 = GTAW, 135 = GMAW)


- Select weld type (e.g. BW - Butt Weld)

- Search and select base material





- Click "Save"

3. Add Inspections
- Add inspections to each weld after saving

- Select inspection type (e.g. VT - Visual Testing)

- Set timing (e.g. Post-weld) and scope (e.g. Weld)


- Save the inspection

- Click "Go Back" to add more welds

- Repeat the weld + inspection process for additional welds

4. Add Drawings (Optional)
- Click "Drawings" and select from the library

- Click "Add Component Drawing"

5. Generate PDF
- Click "Save" then "Create Welding Book"

- Click "Create Welding Book" to generate the PDF

- Click "Download Report"
