How to factory reset a Universal Connector in case of a lost password
This article will cover a scenario where you lost your Universal Connector gateway password.
In this case you can perform a factory reset of the equipment using a specific hardcoded jolly password.
Please ensure following requirements are met:
- Android device available (Android version 7.0 and up)
- WeldCloud Link app installed on Android device (you can download from Google Play Store here)
Reset Procedure
1. Open WeldCloud Link on your Android device
2. Tap "LOG IN" and use your WeldCloud apps credentials
3. Tap on the hamburger menu in the top left corner
4. Tap "Welding Unit Setup"
5. Tap "CONNECT"
6. Available WeldCloud devices will be displayed. Tap on the one you want to connect to
7. Wait for Bluetooth connection to be ready
8. Tap on "PAIR"
9. WeldCloud Link will show successful pairing
10. Setup menu will pop up
11. Tap "FACTORY RESET"
12. Use the hardcoded password: gatewayreset and tap "LOG IN"
13. Tap "PERFORM FACTORY RESET"
14. Confirm action tapping on "PERFORM FACTORY RESET"
15. Action result will be shown in WeldCloud Link app
