Logout on Disconnect Feature in the WeldCloud Link App: Enhanced Welding Traceability

The Logout on Disconnect option in the WeldCloud Link app offers users full control over welding traceability, ensuring flexibility and accountability in managing operator details. This feature empowers WeldCloud users to decide whether welder or welding operator information should remain stored when the WeldCloud Link app disconnects from WeldCloud-enabled welding equipment.

Understanding Bluetooth Disconnections

Bluetooth connections between the WeldCloud Link app and a WeldCloud-enabled system may be interrupted for various reasons. Below are common scenarios where such disconnections occur:

  • Sleep Mode Activation: The WeldCloud Universal Connector enters sleep mode after a period of inactivity.
  • Out of Bluetooth Range: The Android device running the WeldCloud Link app moves beyond the Bluetooth communication range.
  • Manual Disconnection: A user intentionally disconnects the WeldCloud Link app from the equipment.

Impact of the Logout on Disconnect Setting

When the Logout on Disconnect option is disabled in the WeldCloud Link settings, the login details of the welder or welding operator are retained even if Bluetooth connectivity is lost. This ensures that the Operator ID remains tagged to weld sessions, maintaining consistent traceability, which is critical for quality assurance and compliance.

Why This Matters

By keeping operator details linked to the weld sessions despite disconnections, this feature enhances traceability, supports accurate data collection, and aligns with industry best practices for welding documentation. Whether due to environmental factors or operational needs, this flexible functionality ensures that welding projects remain reliable and traceable.
