How to add traceability information using WeldCloud Link scanning function
In this article we will explore how to add traceability data to welding sessions recorded in WeldCloud.
There are different ways to tag information like operator, work order, filler metal type and lot, to a specific welding session:
- Adding those information directly into WeldCloud Fleet as described here
- Sending data to a specific welding power source via WeldCloud Assembly. Please follow this article for details
- Using WeldCloud Link app for Android devices
In this guide we will cover WeldCloud Link app scanning feature to add traceability data to weld sessions.
Scanning process is usually performed by the welder/welding operator using any Android device with WeldCloud Link app installed.
You can find more details on those articles:
Few prerequisites need to be fulfilled for a successful scanning with WeldCloud Link:
- At least one welder/welding operator is created as personnel member. More details here
- Welder/Welding operator is authorized to access a specific power source through a machine permission group
- Welder/Welding operator knows his operator ID. This is set during the personnel member creation process. Please ask a WeldCloud admin user in your company to provide your operator ID (Assumption: welder/welding operator does not have a WeldCloud account)
