Activity Timeline

Introduction to the Activity Timeline in WeldCloud Productivity

The Activity Timeline is a powerful feature in WeldCloud Productivity that visualizes when welding activity takes place over time. By defining shifts and breaks in the system settings (see [this article] for setup instructions), you can generate a clear, chronological view of shop floor operations.

This timeline not only helps you understand what is happening during each shift, but also highlights potential productivity bottlenecks. With this insight, managers and supervisors can make data-driven decisions to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.

Some of the key benefits you can gain from the Activity Timeline include:

  • Track the balance between arc-on time and downtime for welders or machines.
  • Identify recurring patterns such as idle periods, setup delays, or frequent interruptions.
  • Compare productivity across shifts, teams, or individual machines.

Let's have a look at the Activity Timeline in action

  • Enter WeldCloud Productivity

  • Click Activity timeline

  • On the right side there are filtering options you can use to select what data you want to look at

  • Main Activity Timeline chart area shows welding sessions as bars over the selected timespan. Width of the bar is proportional to the arc time of a session while height is proportional to average current (by default). Using dropdown menu you can decide to show other parameter (voltage or wire feed speed)

  • Use the group by menu to switch visualization and group data by operator

  • Toggles are available to show/hide events generated from the welding equipment and working shifts on the activity timeline

  • You can zoom either by using the zoom buttons or by holding left click button of the mouse, selecting the area you want to zoom and release the mouse button

  • Hovering mouse on a specific weld session will show a popup with summary information, while clicking on a specific welding session will open the welding session details page
